I have a proposition. So, ABO, right? Not my thing for many reasons but I dabble. Something I've seen repeatedly is an "alpha voice." Riddle me this. Alphas are already commanding, already the "leader" or "guide" or however you want to view it. They are usually depicted as physically stronger. So if someone was a natural leader and strong, why would they need some extra thing to compel their pack? You know who would need that? Who would evolve that trait? Omegas.

My point is that alpha voice isn't a thing but omega voice is but only towards alphas and that's the real reason they're paired to each other. Because the alpha gets too stubborn and bullheaded when dealing with other people and the omega says "Shut the hell up and sit down" and the alpha is like "okay sorry" and sits.

Remember when everyone used to see Bluestar as a complex, interesting, tragic character and then like someone made a youtube video and everyone just barked "Bluestar bad" without a single thought. this is like entirely because much of my social interactions in early teenage years took the form of online rp forums and threads and tumblr accounts but i literally always forget that people attribute a lot of personal feelings to the way you have a character behave eg when people act like it's weird or awkward to write or rp romance with a platonic friend who you have no interest in irl. bc to me that is 100% normal like i have zero association between my feelings and the feelings of any character i create. i was talking to a friend awhile ago about dnd and critical role and she was like 'it must be kinda weird for them to play romances since they're all friends and many of them are with other people at the table who they're not romancing' and i was literally like ??????? like the thought had just never crossed my mind. like obviouslyyyyyy rping romance is simply not everyone's bag some people just don't like it and some people would not feel comfortable doing it with just anyone etc etc but imo that's just like any other aspect of roleplay? right? if it's not weird for you to get into an in character heated argument and the be perfectly cordial and often very enthusiastic and excited out of character afterward, why would it be weird for the characters to kiss instead. the same way everyone at the table knows you aren't actually angry with each other just because the characters are, everyone at the table knows the players aren't actually dating one another too

does romance have some ephemeral quality that makes it different from writing/roleplaying other things that i'm missing? bc i simply like. cannot locate the hangup people have with the general concept
